About 2 km north of the town there is "Městský les" (a forest) which is 450 ha big. There are tourist paths and in the winter it is used for cross-country skiing. 3 km east of the town is a recreational area called "U hlubokého rybníka" (a pond). Other places for swimming are about 2 km west of the town "Červený rybník" and "Vlčí hora".
"Na Jemničkách" (2 km south) are the preserved remains of medieval mining pits.
In the village Dešná (7 km south) there is a private horse riding stable.

A stronghold from the 11th century, at the end of the 15th century it was enlarged, in the middle of the 19th century it was reconstructed in the Romanesque-Gothic style with a valuable interior with collections of hunting weapons. The original town was drowned by the Vranovská reservoir. - Vranov dam (15 km)
This dam was built between 1930-1933. Around the thirty km long reservoir there are a lot of recreation facilities.
